We are not interested in regime change; disgruntled Nigerians free to protest while we continue ‘eating’ — Akpabio mocks hungry Nigerians Senate President Godswill Akpabio says disgruntled Nigerians can continue to protest while he and other pro-government citizens will continue to eat from President Bola Tinubu’s government.
“We are not interested in regime change. Let us own this government. Those who want to protest can protest. But let us be there eating,” Mr Akpabio said on Tuesday.
The Senate president said this at a meeting with the NDDC executive management, Niger Delta ethnic nationalities, and other stakeholders in Port Harcourt. He appealed to Nigerians to give Mr Tinubu’s administration more time so its policies could yield results. “As the Senate president, I want to appeal to all Nigerian youths to give this administration an opportunity for most of the policies to mature,” Mr Akpabio said.
He added, “So the whispers of our nation are already receiving attention. The economic challenges are known to the president because all of us feel the impact of what is happening now.” reported by Newsweek NG
